Professional Development at Your Fingertips

RtI Talks
are professional development opportunities hosted by the RtI Action Network at www.rtinetwork.org

RtI Talks are free, live, online discussions on Response to Intervention (RtI) featuring nationally-recognized researchers and experienced implementers. During an RtI Talk, experts are available to answer questions submitted prior to the talk or during the live event. You can check the website from time to time for upcoming talks, but if you miss them, they are easy to view 24/7 in their RtI Talk Archive on the website’s Professional Development link. Check out the transcripts of these archived talks. However, keep in mind that RtI frameworks vary from state, so you will want to put the information you hear and see in context with New Mexico’s three-tier model.

  1. School-Wide Positive Behavior Support and RtI
  2. Family-School Partnerships and RtI
  3. Data-Based Decision Making
  4. RtI and Universal Screening
  5. Building Education Programs that Work for All Students
  6. Implementing RtI in Mathematics
  7. Building Your Blueprint for Successful RtI Implementation
  8. Managing Ongoing Student Assessments
  9. Response to Intervention and IDEA—LD Identification in the RtI Instruction Model
  10. RtI Gets Promoted to Secondary Schools
  11. Reading and RtI: How Students Benefit from Multi-tiered Instruction and Intervention
  12. Recognition and Response
  13. Response to Intervention: What Parents Need to Know About this Approach to Identifying Students Most At-Risk for LD

The National Center on RtI at www.rti4success.org also hosts periodic webinars. If you miss one, don't worry! You can still watch the recording and view the presentation slides. Go to their website and click on Events/Webinars to see the list.

Be sure to also check out upcoming and archived webinars at School Moving Up, a WestEd initiative. There are a variety of webinar topics and other resources at this link that are relevant to implementing an RtI framework such as differentiated instruction, assessment, diverse learners, and more. http://www.schoolsmovingup.net/cs/smu/print/htdocs/smu/webinars/past.htm
